- Ensure that your wallet has a balance of the native tokens of the network you wish to participate in for voting
Step-by-Step Voting Guideβ
- Navigate to the Govscan homepage and select the network whose proposals you want to participate in.
- If the network was selected from the Chains section and not from the top menu, proceed to the Proposal Explorer section. Here, you can browse through the list of current proposals open for voting.
- Click on the proposal you are interested in. This will take you to the proposalβs detail page where you can read more about the proposal specifics.
- Click the Vote button to open the voting interface.
- In the voting interface, you will see options such as FOR/ YES, AGAINST/ NO, ABSTAIN, or NO WITH VETO depending on the proposal's requirements. Enter the amount of tokens you wish to commit to your vote and confirm your vote by signing the transaction in your connected wallet.
- Post-vote, you can track your voting activities under the Voting Activity section on the Govscan website. This helps you keep a record of your participations and contributions to governance decisions.
Additional Informationβ
- Voting power is generally proportional to the amount of tokens you hold and have committed as a stake in the network.
- In most fo the cases, it is determined by the sum of your own locked stake and any stake delegated to you by others. This encompasses stakes that are in both Active and Pending Inactive states, ensuring you can utilize your full potential influence even if parts of your stake are transitioning states.
- You can vote with stakes that have a lockup period extending beyond the end of the proposal's voting period. This allows you to participate in governance without affecting the security and integrity of the locked tokens.
